Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar is fairly active on social media and boasts more than 2.8 million followers on Twitter. On quite a few occasions, however, he becomes the victim of his own opinion as Twitterati troll him for the most bizarre reasons.

As India gear up to take on England in the high-octane Test series, Manjrekar on Monday (July 28) recorded a video for ESPNCricinfo and posted it on Twitter. In the clip, he can be seen advising Virat Kohli to tackle James Anderson in the upcoming five-Test series.

However, Manjrekar’s suggestion for the Indian captain didn’t go down too well for the cricket fans. In particular, Sanjay faced the wrath of Kohli supporters, who reminded him of his average on English soil.

Here are some of the tweets roasting Manjrekar:

It is worth mentioning here that Anderson was Kohli’s biggest nemesis during the 2014 series in England. The England pacer had dismissed him 4 times in 10 innings in that Test series. Overall, Anderson has taken Virat’s wicket five times in Tests going back to 2012.

Nonetheless, Kohli had turned the table during the 2016 Test series at home as he dominated Anderson and England by scoring 655 in 5 Tests at an average of 109.16.
