Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been re-signed by England domestic cricket county club Worcestershire for this season. Ashwin will be available for Worcestershire's last two games in the county championship, after having played a substantial role in their promotion to Division1, last year.

The Board of Control for India(BCCI) has allowed Ashwin to join the club for their Division One matches against Essex and Yorkshire late in September.

Head Coach Kevin Sharp talked to the club’s official website about the development and said, “Ashwin is world class and he loved it at Worcestershire. Conversations have been ongoing about him coming back and I’m sure he will be a great fillip for us. He had a massive input for us on and off the field last summer in helping us gain promotion and he is a high-class individual.”

31-year-old Ashwin is now off to England for the upcoming five-match Test series scheduled to begin from August 1 and will be extremely determined to prove his prowess in unhelpful conditions.
