Since his success against Virat Kohli in the final ODI when he cleaned him up with a ripper, speculations regarding Adil Rashid playing in the test series against India have increased. Even England selector was impressed with Rashid in the bygone ODI series against India and his performance has given him a though to recall the leg-spinner to the Test side.

The 30-year-old has not played five-day cricket since December 2016 when he played the last of his 10 Tests, preferring to compete only in 50-over and 20-over formats.

Adil Rashid can forge a deadly combination with Moeen Ali who took 19 wickets and totally tormented India during their last tour in 2014. Rashid is the leading wicket-taker in one-day and Twenty20 internationals for England this summer, with 25 victims, including Virat Kohli at Headingley on Tuesday with a sharply-turning delivery that left India's captain awestruck.

Rashid has been voicing his concern of concentrating more on ODI cricket, but with the growing hype of his possibility of playing Test cricket again, he has not thrown the possibility out of the window.

“Right now I’m focusing on white-ball cricket for Yorkshire – starting with Friday’s (July 20) Roses match against Lancashire – but if England do want me to be part of the squad for the Test series against India then I’ll consider it,” he said in his diary for Sky Sports Cricket.

“I made the decision earlier this year to focus on playing white-ball cricket to see how it felt but always knew that if I found I was missing red-ball cricket then I would go back to it. So if the selectors come and show faith in me then I would consider it, whatever role they want me to do,” the 30-year-old further said.

England are yet to announce their squad for the Test series against India and there is certainly a place for Rashid in the playing XI.
