After getting the best of Virat Kohli in the final ODI at Leeds, the England team management led by Ed Smith are thinking to recall Adil Rashid into the Test side. Earlier, Rashid himself took a stand where he went on to say that he is ruling out the possibility of playing Test cricket to concentrate more on white ball cricket success. He was certainly successful for England in the ODI series seeing which the England selectors have been bent on his Test recall.

Sportsmail understands new national selector Ed Smith will talk to Rashid about his controversial decision, made earlier this year, to give up on all red-ball cricket - a move that has led to a strained relationship with his county, Yorkshire.

England were believed to have put a line under Rashid's name at Test level after that tour because it was felt he did not respond as well in the longer game without the safely net of the defensive fields he can set when players go after him in white-ball cricket.

Rashid appears resolutely not for turning, but if Smith's persuasive tongue makes him think otherwise it will surely increase England's chances of defeating India.

'All I am saying is that for now, I am concentrating solely on white-ball cricket,' said Rashid, who is in the best form of his life for England as his 'ball of the century' to Kohli showed.

This statement by Rashid has once again reinstated the fact that he wants to develope into a red ball specialist for England. It is a mantra he keeps on repeating and one he seems determined to stick to.

However, the England team management is still garnering hopes of recalling Rashid back into playing red ball cricket for England.
