ENG vs IND 2018: Michael Vaughan defends Root's 'bat drop' celebration

Root has promised to not repeat the celebration again.

Joe  Root was at his absolute best scoring 100 *  and taking his team to victory. It was his second ton of the series after he scored the first of the two at Lord's.

After scoring his ton he celebrated the feat by doing the "bat drop" celebration. It is assumed that he did the celebration to point a prove to the England selectors that he is still good enough to play the game at the highest level.

It is England's batting which has helped them to get to the number one position in the ICC ODI rankings and their performances led by Root was just a reiteration of the fact. The second and the third ODI games saw England totally dominate the Indians and outplay them in all departments of the game. Batting among all the three was the one aspect that made all the difference.

England scored 322 in the first ODI while they chased down the Indian total of 256 with more than five overs to spare and won the game by 8 wickets.

Seeing Root go under the scanner for the celebration, former England skipper Michael Vaughan has come out in support of the England  Test skipper. In a series of two tweets, Vaughan has defended Root saying that all who are unhappy with Root's celebration should look into the mirror and question themselves. He also batted for some space of fun and happiness in the game.

Having won the ODI series, England now will aim to win the Test series as well.  It would be an understatement to say thus, that  England will start as the favorites in the series, especially in home conditions.

Here are the tweets by Vaughan on Root's defence.
