MS Dhoni gave Indian fans a scare with his bizarre act post-India's series defeat against England. The cricketer went on to ask for the match ball from on-field umpire which created a chaotic confusion on social media.

Fans started speculating about Dhoni's retirement and few cricket websites also added fuel to the fire. Many would not have slept peacefully for sure.

India was beaten by England at Leeds and it was India's first ever bilateral series defeat under Virat Kohli. In the game, Dhoni was under fire for his poor performance with the bat. The 37-year-old couldn't finish the innings when needed the most.

Dhoni scored 42 from 66 balls with four fours came at a strike rate of 63.64 which didn't help the team. He was later dismissed caught behind to Jos Buttler off the bowling of David Willey.

India was too much short of a good total as Dhoni couldn't bat out full 50 overs. Tours like this have ended many careers and fans feared it could be the end of their beloved cricketer.

A video of Dhoni taking the ball from umpire gone viral and fans were nervously waiting for an announcement.
