After the conclusion of the 3-match T20I series and 3-match ODI series, England and India will engage in a five-match Test series starting from August 1.

BCCI has named the Indian squad for the first 3 Tests of the five-Test series against England.

The series will see the might of Indian batting up against the strength of England fast bowling. In James Anderson and Stuart Broad, they might have a combined experience of over 900 Test wickets and in Chris Woakes, Ben Stokes, Jake Ball, and others have a quite potent seam attack.

For India, it will be a test of captain Virat Kohli and Indian batting to remove the bad image of India’s previous two tours. For Virat, it will be banishing his own demons of the last tour, where he scored 134 runs in 10 innings.

The squad selection saw some surprises in the team alongside the regulars. Wriddhiman Saha misses out, Rishab Pant gets a maiden Test call up. Regulars like Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, M Vijay made it into the team. Bhuvneshwar Kumar remains a doubt after he aggravated his back during the 3rd ODI.
