England thrashed India by 8 wickets in the third and last ODI match at Headingley, Leeds and sealed the 3 match ODI series by 2-1.

England asked India to bat first and restricted the visitors to 256/8 on a slow track. Virat Kohli played 71 runs knock, MS Dhoni (42) and Shikhar Dhawan also chipped in and for England spinner Adil Rashid took 3 wickets.

In response Jonny Bairstow gave England a flying start as he scored 30 runs in just 13 balls and later Joe Root (100*) and captain Eoin Morgan (88*)'s unbeaten 186 runs partnership made the chase easy and helped England to win the match as well as series. Adil Rashid was declared Man of the Match and Joe Root was declared Man of the Series.

1 - This 2-1 series loss to England was India's first loss in a bilateral ODI series since losing to Australia by 4-1 in January 2016 and also first series loss under the leadership of Virat Kohli.

5 - This was England's 5th consecutive ODI win at Headingley, Leeds. Their last ODI loss at this venue came against Sri Lanka in 2011.
