BCCI's All-India senior selection committee is yet to announce India's squad for the upcoming 5-match Test series in England and while there has been no specific reason being given by the board for the delay, according to the reports, it is the debate over the selection of Rohit Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav that has led to the deferment.

A BCCI source close to the matter was quoted telling Mumbai Mirror, “We’ll announce it on Tuesday(July 17). It is a strategy,”

Rohit's red ball credentials may be in doubt as his record in Test match cricket suggests but the graceful batsman has been in stellar limited overs form on the tour. Having scored a matchwinning 100 at Bristol in the T20I series decider, he followed it up with a magnificent ton in the first ODI at Trent Bridge.

On the other hand, Kuldeep has had a dream start to his first tour of England. Having befuddled them with his beautifully classical wrist-spin in the first T20 International in Manchester, he reaffirmed his class in the first ODI at Trent Bridge. The 23-year-old followed his majestic spell of 5-24 across 4 overs, with the reiteration of just how good he is via a 6-25 from 10 overs in Nottingham.

The form that Rohit's been in is tempting for the team management and the selectors, while Kuldeep is highly likely to feature in when the squad is announced.

The Test series begins with the first Test in Edgbaston starting August 1.
