Rohit Sharma smashed an unbeaten century (137 off 114 balls) as India thrashed England by 8 wickets in the first ODI at Trent Bridge on Thursday (July 12).

Chasing 269, Rohit made the mockery of English attack to guide his team home with 59 balls to spare. It was his 18th ODI ton and the innings was laced with 15 fours and 4 sixes.

Apart from his on-field dominance, Sharma seems to be enjoying his time off the field. He was seen having a little race with Shikhar Dhawan’s son, Zoravar, on Friday (July 13) which left the social media users in splits.

Rohit’s opening partner, Dhawan, shared the video on his official Instagram page and captioned it as: “@rohitsharma45 back with his trainer#zoraver, whipping his ass and telling him to run.”

Rohit Sharma has had a memorable UK tour thus far. While the Mumbaikar has recorded the scores of 97 and 0 in the two-match T20I against Ireland, he has amassed 137 runs in the following three- Twenty20 Internationals against England, including a century at Bristol.

Earlier, it was Kuldeep Yadav who dented the English batting line-up with his six-wicket haul in the Nottingham ODI. The Chinaman bowler removed Jason Roy (38), Jonny Bairstow (38) and Joe Root (3) within the space of 15 deliveries in his first spell whereas Stokes (50), Buttler (53) and David Willey (1) were his victims in the second spell. Umesh Yadav also picked a couple of wickets at the fag end of the innings as England eventually got bundled out for 268 in 49.5 overs.

The second ODI between England and India will be played at Lord’s on Saturday (July 14).
