ENG vs IND 2018: David Warner anticipates a great series between India and England

Warner praised India for a fantastic performance in the first ODI at Trent Bridge.

India were brilliant in Trent Bridge and now lead the 3-match series 1-0.

Discarded and banned by Cricket Australia for his involvement in the ball-tampering incident earlier this year in South Africa, opening batsman David Warner is currently in Toronto playing the Global T20 Canada League but the veteran is keeping a close eye on what's going around the cricketing world.

Warner having seen Australia being hammered by Eoin Morgan's men twice in the year, home and away, hail the arch-rivals as "the best side for a while" but believes, now that India one-sidedly won the first ODI of the ongoing series at Trent Bridge, it has set the rest of thing very well and "this will be a great series." Warner also stated that with sides like England and India being the favourites, it's "Gonna be one amazing World Cup next year in England."

Bowling first, Virat Kohli's men restricted England for a modest total of 268 on a really flat Nottingham surface, owing purely to the mesmerising spell by Kuldeep Yadav. The 23-year-old bowled nothing but beautiful, classical wrist-spin to pick 6 wickets for just 25 runs and made the telling impact on the game.

India chased down the target easily in the 41st over, with Rohit Sharma scoring a brilliant 137* from just 114 balls and bringing up his 18th ODI hundred in the process. Rohit got able support from Virat Kohli, who himself made a valiant 75 from 82 and helped secure an easy win in the end. India played like the world-class all conditions force that they are in limited overs cricket and got praised by one and all.

Warner took to the social media network Twitter and wrote, "Fair to say @ECB_cricket have been the best side for a while but this will be a great series . @BCCI  @imVkohli  @ImRo45  in good touch. Gonna be one amazing World Cup next year in England."
