Indian team has arrived in England to play the limited-overs leg of their tour. England and India will play 3 T20I matches first, with three ODIs to follow. The first T20I match will be played at the Old Trafford on July 3, 2018.

They are coming off a 2-0 win over Ireland in the T20I series in Dublin, but have also suffered in terms of players getting injured. Jasprit Bumrah will miss the T20I series against England, after hurting his thumb in the first T20I against Ireland. On the other hand, Washington Sundar injured his ankle during warm-ups and missed the Ireland series and has now been confirmed to miss the limited-overs leg against England as well.

Now BCCI has named Krunal Pandya in the Indian team for the three T20I matches against England. Krunal, whose younger brother Hardik is already part of the Indian team, has earned this call-up thanks to his brilliant performances for Mumbai Indians in IPL and for Baroda in domestic cricket.

Left-handed spinning all-rounder Krunal has been one of the most talented and rising cricketers on the domestic front in India and was rewarded with a place in India A squad for the One-Day tri-series against West Indies A and England Lions.

Krunal was overjoyed with the news of getting selected for the Indian senior team and showed his gratitude and joy on Twitter and posted, “Really honored to be picked to represent India in the upcoming T20Is. It’s something I’ve worked hard for and I feel blessed. #HardWorkPaysOff #ENGvIND
