Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah will be missing out on the T20I and ODI series in England after breaking a finger as per a Times of India report. Bumrah, was hit on his left hand on the final ball of the 1st T20I against Ireland.

The injury comes as a major blow to the Indian team ahead of the tour of England, as Bumrah forms an excellent partnership with Bhuvneshwar Kumar with the new ball and in the death overs. BCCI is yet to officially confirm the extent of the injury, but India will be hoping that Bumrah will recover to take part in the 5-match Test series which starts on August 1.

Bumrah flew with the Indian team to Manchester today, and it is expected that he will return home soon. The replacement is set to be either of Deepak Chahar or Shardul Thakur, with both the bowlers currently being part of the India A team for the tri-series in England.

India crushed minnows Ireland to start the UK tour on a positive note, and despite the Bumrah injury setback will look to keep the momentum against England, who have been on a roll against Australia. The first T20I between the two batting powerhouses is scheduled to be played on Tuesday.
