England fast bowler, Stuart Broad will have to undertake a scan on his left ankle after he encountered discomfort while playing against Worcestershire in the county season for Nottinghamshire. The 32-year old cricketer could only manage to bowl only 8 overs in the second innings and was not able to join his teammates on the field for the final two sessions.

While a full report on Broad's injury is yet to come, Nottinghamshire's head coach said "Stuart's sore ankle has been ongoing and it was stirred up a little bit when he landed in the footholds, so it made sense for him to come off the field when it was too sore for him to bowl," he was quoted as saying by the club's website.

"It is manageable, but he has a lot of cricket to play in the rest of the summer. He will have a scan on it this morning. It was disappointing for him because he was desperate to get out there and was prowling around the dressing room, but injuries are injuries and you have to take heed of them."

The management of England along with the Test captain, Joe Root will keep a sharp eye on Broad's bowling partner, James Anderson who is also on rehabilitation ahead of India tour to England. The fast bowling pair of England will try to come out strong in the first Test match which is scheduled to take place on August 1.
