WATCH- Miffed Mitchell Starc throws his bat after NSW captain Nevill declared with him on 86*

Mitchell Starc's highest FC score remains 99, which came in a Test against India in 2013.

Starc (86*) and Abbott (102*) walk off after NSW captain Peter Nevill declare the innings | GettyNew South Wales had a better outing in the second innings during their ongoing Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania at Park 25 no.2 in Adelaide.

After being bowled out for 64 in their first innings and conceding 239 runs to Tasmania, NSW clawed their way back into the game in the second innings, by posting a mammoth 522/6. Nick Larkin slammed 161, Moises Henriques made 113, while Sean Abbott also pitched in with 102*.

There would have probably been one more century from the NSW side had captain Peter Nevill not declared the innings at the above-mentioned score. Left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc was left stranded on 86 runs in 132 balls with 1 six and 9 fours.

There were four more wickets to come which included Trent Copeland and Nathan Lyon, both capable of holding up one hand, as Starc looked for his maiden FC century. His highest score is 99, which came in a Test match against India.

However, it was not to be as Nevill thought that a target of 348 was enough for Tasmania and he wanted to have enough time in hand for his bowlers to get him a victory. But this obviously, didn’t sit well with Mitchell Starc, who was seen seething in anger and as he entered the makeshift dressing room/dugout, he reacted by throwing his bat away and then chucked his gloves as well.

Cricket Australia posted a gif on their Twitter account of the incident:
