Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019: Mukund, Shankar, and Karthik help TN beat MP by 211 runs

In the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019-20, October 12 was a day of big wins and notable names making a splash in the domestic 50-over tournament.

Tamil Nadu played Madhya Pradesh at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur and saw the Dinesh Karthik led side defeat Naman Ojha’s team by a huge 211-run margin. Ojha had won the toss and chose to field first, a decision he regretted, as Abhinav Mukund made 147 with 17 fours and 2 sixes, Vijay Shankar made 90 with 7 fours and 2 sixes, while skipper Karthik contributed 65* in 28 balls with 8 fours and 3 sixes, taking the team to 360/4 in 50 overs.

In reply, MP managed just 149 runs with Anand Bais made 34 and Ojha, Iyer and Dubey making scores in the 20s. M Ashwin picked 3/14, while Tanwar and Sai Kishore picked two wickets each and Baba Aparajith picked two wickets in the only two balls he bowled.
