Aiden Markram’s century highlights day two of the BPXI v SA practice match at Vizianagaram

Aiden Markram hit 100 with 18 fours and 2 sixes | TwitterAfter the first day of the three-day practice match between the Indian Board President’s XI and South Africa at Dr. PVG Raju ACA Sports Complex, Vizianagaram was washed out due to rains; the second day saw some action as South Africa engaged in some batting practice.

South Africa captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and chose to bat first. Umesh Yadav and Ishan Porel sent back Dean Elgar and Theunis de Bruyn for 6 runs apiece. Zubayr Hamza made 22, while Du Plessis fell for 9 runs, both picked up by Dharmendrasinh Jadeja.

But the best performance of the innings came from Aiden Markram, who made 100 from 118 balls with 18 fours and 2 sixes before retiring hurt. Temba Bavuma remained not out on 55 with 9 fours at the end of the day’s play, with the score on 199/4. For India Dharmendrasinh Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers with 2/52, while Umesh Yadav and Ishan Porel picked one wicket each.
