Duleep Trophy 2019: Ankeet Bawane slams 121* to take India Blue to 255 against India Red

Bawane slammed 14 boundaries in his amazing knock.

Ankit Kalsi hit a brilliant ton for India Red | TwitterThe ongoing Duleep Trophy 2019 match between India Red and India Blue at the KSCA Cricket Ground, Alur is seeing some of the best domestic stars trying to impress the BCCI senior team selectors.

The first innings saw Himachal Pradesh’s Ankit Kalsi slamming a sublime ton (106), while Karun Nair fell one short of a brilliant ton, as India Red put 285 on board. For India Blue, Diwesh Pathania picked 4/55 and Jalaj Saxena picked 3/57.

In reply, India Blue’s innings faltered from the start as opener Snell Patel (0) and skipper Shubman Gill (9) fell cheaply. However, it was Maharashtra’s Ankeet Bawane who took the command of the innings in his hands and made a sublime 121* in 254 balls with 14 fours to his name. He got support from Ruturaj Gaikwad (37) and Anmolpreet Singh (56), as India Red bowlers ran riot.

Amidst the chaos, Bawane kept his calm and waited for loose balls patiently, but was severe once he got an opportunity to score runs and helped his team lessen the lead it gave to the opposition. India Blue was finally bowled out for 255 runs.

For India Red, Avesh Khan picked 4/58, while Unadkat and Wakhare picked three wickets apiece.
