Saurashtra's Cheteshwar Pujara who is normally calm as a monk was provoked by the Karnakata captain Manish Pandey in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy semi-final game at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

It is something very rare that Pujara was targetted with words. The words came from Pandey just before Shreyas Gopal came into bowl were, “One lazy shot and he (Pujara) will get out.”

When spinner Gopal handed over the ball, Pujara was batting patiently. He wasn't looking to play shots but a poor delivery by the bowler to start his over gave the Saurashtra batsman to smash him for a six on backfoot.

Here is the video:

In the same match, Pujara had refused to walk despite nicking a delivery of Abhimanyu Mithun. It was very unusual and rare from the gentleman. Umpire wasn't convinced even after a huge noise and a loud appeal from the Karnataka side. It was a blunder by the on-field umpire, suggested replay.
