Ranji Trophy 2018-19: Ronit More fifer pegs Saurashtra back as they end day 2 on 227/7

Karnataka made 275 on back of Shreyas Gopal's 87 and S Sharath's 83*

Shreyas Gopal to scored for KarnatakaThe second semi-final between Saurashtra and Karnataka which is being played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, has been one of the interesting matches in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2018-19.

Karnataka batted first and with Manish Pandey’s 62 and scores in the 80s by Shreyas Gopal (87) and S Sharath (83*), put on 275 on the board. Saurashtra captain Jaydev Unadkat had starred with 4/56, while Kamlesh Makwana picked 3/74.

Saurashtra in reply found themselves in trouble as Harvik Desai and Vishvarajsinh Jadeja fell cheaply. Snell Patel hit 85, while Cheteshwar Pujara (45) and Sheldon Jackson (46) gave him company, as Saurashtra made way closer to Karnataka’s score.

However, Karnataka’s Ronit More had other thoughts, as he picked five of the seven wickets to fall, including that of Desai, Jadeja, Jackson, Mankad, and Makwana, to leave Saurashtra reeling at 227/7 by the end of day’s play.

Saurashtra is still 48 runs behind with 3 wickets in hand in the first innings.
