The team of Bihar, which made a return to Ranji Trophy in the 2018-19 season has seen much success in the Plate Group. Much of this success can be attributed to 32-year-old left-arm spinner Ashutosh Aman.
Aman has had a prolific season and has broken a 44-year-old record, by taking 65 wickets in the ongoing Ranji season. He broke the record of Indian great Bishan Singh Bedi, who had taken 64 wickets for Delhi in the 1974-75 season.
Aman, who had made his debut in this Ranji season, achieved the feat against Manipur in Patna. In seven completed first-class matches, Aman has taken four 10-wicket match hauls already — against Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Nagaland.
He has also scored a century, his maiden one against Mizoram.
