Having been released by Kings XI Punjab ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2019, Yuvraj Singh has set sights on playing the next three matches of the Ranji Trophy for Punjab to attract the franchises before the mega-auction next month.

Veteran all-rounder will be playing his first Ranji Trophy game of the 2018-19 season for Punjab against Delhi to be played at the Feroz Shah Kotla from Wednesday (November 28).

Having missed the first two matches against Andhra and Madhya Pradesh, the left-hander will also turn up for Punjab against Himachal Pradesh (December 6-9) and Tamil Nadu (December 14-17) in Mohali.

It will be certainly a big boost for Punjab before their crucial encounters in the Ranji Trophy, while these matches can turn his fortune in the upcoming IPL 2019, as it will his last opportunity to perform well and attract the bidders ahead of the Auction in December.

The underperforming all-rounder joined the Punjab team at nets on Monday (November 26) before Delhi encounter and he was looking for a fresh start, there was no rustiness in his practice.

Noteworthy, Yuvraj played in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Punjab led by Mandeep Singh, and scored 264 runs in seven innings, but was ignored for Deodhar Trophy, which clearly hinted that the all-rounder is not a part of India’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 scheme.
