Ranji Trophy 2018-19: 5 Bowlers to keep an eye out for in the tournament

Here are five bowlers who might shine in the 85th edition of Ranji Trophy.

SHIVAM MAVI
19-year-old Shivam Mavi has already impressed with his pace and consistency

One of the most wonderful finds of the U19 World Cup this year were the Indian pace bowlers who helped India win the tournament in January 2018. And Uttar Pradesh’s Shivam Mavi impressed one and all with his ability to bowl over 145 kmph on a consistent basis.

He is yet to play a First-Class match, but made his T20 debut for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2018 and List A debut for India A against South Africa A. He then made headlines for taking a hat-trick for UP against Saurashtra in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Mavi is 19 years of age and still has a lot to learn, but his skill set and fitness have put him in a different class than his peers and with experience, he will be a potent force for the Indian team. For now, all eyes will be on Shivam Mavi’s performance in the Ranji Trophy 2018/19, as he will be making his debut for Uttar Pradesh.
