Deodhar Trophy 2018-19: Shubman Gill’s 106* gives India C a 6-wicket win over India A

India A captain Dinesh Karthik won the toss and chose to bat first. Anmolpreet Singh (59; 9x4s, 1x6s) and AR Easwaran (69; 5x4s) added 99 runs for the first wicket. Nitish Rana then hit 68 with 6 fours and 1 six adding a further 76 runs with Easwaran.

Dinesh Karthik then hit 32 and the returning Kedar Jadhav hit 41 off 25 balls to launch India A to 293/6 in 50 overs. All-rounder Vijay Shankar picked 3/40, while Rahul Chahar picked 2/79 for India C.

India C’s opening stand was not a big one as skipper Rahane (13) and Mukund (37) added just 24 runs for the first wicket. However, India’s U19 World Cup winner Shubman Gill hit a brilliant 106* with 8 fours and 3 sixes and with help of Ishan Kishan, who hit 69 off 60 balls with 11 fours, added 121 runs for the fourth wicket. Suresh Raina failed yet again to contribute, getting run out for 2.   

He then 90 runs with Suryakumar Yadav (56* off 36 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours) to take India C to the win by 6 wickets.

Gill was given the Man of the Match award for his brilliant century. India C will play India B in the final on 27th October 2018 (Saturday).
