Prithvi Shaw released from Deodhar Trophy India A squad; advised rest and medication

Shaw had been in good form for Mumbai in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare trophy | File PhotoMumbai batsman Prithvi Shaw who had put the world on notice with his scintillating display against the Windies in the Test series has flown back home to Mumbai in middle of the ongoing Deodhar Trophy.

This after Shaw had suffered a blow on his elbow while playing for India A by Deepak Chahar and was in apparent discomfort despite physio’s help. He was having pain in his right shoulder. Shaw was first hit during the Hyderabad Test against West Indies and was again in distress during the Vijay Hazare Trophy, prompting the BCCI to answer alarm bells.

MRI scans of Prithvi Shaw showed no major damage on his elbow and just a slight inflammation. He flew back to Mumbai and was replaced by Kedar Jadhav, who is making a comeback after a hamstring injury sustained during the Asia Cup.

Prithvi has been advised rest and medication for a few days. however, there is no new update on the shoulder injury which has been troubling Prithvi for some time now. According to sources, Prithvi is expected to fit in time to play Mumbai's first Ranji Trophy encounter on November 3.
