Looking forward to the grind of the domestic game after so long, Ajinkya Rahane says that he is intent on maintaining the same focus and attitude, with which he plays for India, while leading India C in the ongoing premier List A tournament, Deodhar Trophy. 

Rahane, who finds himself out of favour from the limited overs game and has been going through an alarmingly long drought of runs at the Test level, understands that the time is running out for him, with only 17 ODIs left before the World Cup in England next year and the tough tour of Australia immediately ahead, but, he is confident of excelling despite. 

"After coming from international cricket, you’ve got to have the same attitude and the same intensity when you go on to the field,” said Rahane, ahead of the clash against India B on Wednesday, October 24, "I always believe that you are always a student. When you step on to the field, you learn something or the other each and every day," 

"The attitude which I bring in international cricket, I want to continue with that and help my team always because when you help your team you automatically do well,” he added. 

The tournament attains greater significance than ever for players like Rahane, but the admirable cricketer wants to control what he can and is focussed on the process. 

“I am not thinking about individual performances or outcomes, it’s all about playing with a good attitude in domestic cricket and sending a good message,” he said, “There are certain things you can’t control and that’s something that I always believe in. What you can control is your good attitude on the field, and your dedication on the field, and the passion to play cricket. That’s what you can control," he affirmed, “That’s the only message I’ll give, just go out there and enjoy your cricket with passion. Play with a good attitude,” and signed off.
