Yuvraj Singh and Gautam Gambhir ignored for Deodhar Trophy | GETTY

Names like Dinesh Karthik, R Ashwin, and Ajinkya Rahane are set to feature in the Deodhar Trophy which begins in Delhi on October 23. But the second highest run-getter of on-going Vijay Hazare Trophy, Gautam Gambhir wasn't named for the tournament.

Twitterati was vexed after the team announcement. The angry fans went on to lash out at the BCCI for ignoring Gambhir who scored 517 runs with an average of 57.44 in Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Fans were expecting the Delhi batsman to be named as captain in one of the three teams, but the southpaw couldn't even make it to the team despite a good batting performance.

Not only Gambhir, but even Yuvraj Singh's name was also missing in all three teams.
