Arjun Tendulkar to play in the U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy

Mumbai announced squad for U19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy.

Arjun Tendulkar is all set to play in the upcoming Vinoo Mankad Trophy 2018-19, as the young pace sensation has been named in the Mumbai U-19 squad on Tuesday (October 2).

The wicket-keeper batsman Vedant Murkar will lead the 15-man squad with Mumbai will open its Vinoo Mankad campaign against Gujarat on October 6.  

He was part of the India U-19 squad for the Sri Lanka Test series in July 2018. The left-arm pacer had finished the Sri Lanka tour with three wickets in four innings in the two-match Test series.

Arjun, son of cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar was excluded from the India U-19 squad for one-day series, as he is already 19 and due to which the fast-bowler has also not been included in the ongoing U19 Asia Cup 2018, as well as, will not be eligible to play next junior World Cup in 2020.

However, the upcoming Vinoo Mankad Trophy will be a great opportunity to make it to the Mumbai’s senior team by impressing the selectors with his show in the tournament.

Following their campaign against Gujarat, Mumbai will next face Bengal (October 7), Madhya Pradesh (October 9), Karnataka (October 12), Assam (October 16), Maharashtra (October 18), Jharkhand (October 20) and Uttar Pradesh (October 22) in the league stage matches of the tournament.

Vedant Murkar (Captain & W.K.), Suved Parkar (Vice Captain), Pragnesh Kanpillewar, Divyaansh Saxena, Sagar Chhabria, Akshat Jain, Arsalan Shaikh, Hashir Dafedar, Vaibhav Kalamkar, Atharva Ankolekar, Aakash Sharma, Arjun Tendulkar, Uzair Khan, Atharva Poojari, Aryan Badhe.
