R Vinay Kumar to lead Karnataka in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018-19

Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018-19 will get underway from September 19 in Alur.

Veteran pacer R. Vinay Kumar is all set to lead defending champions Karnataka in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018-19 starting from September 19. The news was confirmed by the state association on Friday (September 14). 

Karnataka will be without services of their premier batsman K.L. Rahul and Manish Pandey, as the duo will be on the national duty in the Asia Cup 2018 to be held in the UAE from Saturday (September 15).

Fast-bowler M.G. Naveen has replaced T. Pradeep, who featured in Karnataka’s victorious campaign last season, in the squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Meanwhile, former left-arm seamer S. Arvind, who also featured in the two matches for Karnataka in the last edition of the tournament before taking a call on his career was named as the bowling coach of the side for the upcoming 17th season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy –a List A tournament in India.

On the other hand, Yere Goud will continue to coach the state side while Anuthosh Poll has been named as the Manager of the side for the tournament.

Karnataka will begin their Vijay Trophy campaign against Maharashtra at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on September 20.
