JASON ROY- 9/10
Jason Roy was the lynchpin for England at the top and amassed 443 runs with four fifties and one century, a score of 153. He came back with vigor after an injury layoff and smashed England into the finals with a brilliant 80-odd against Australia in the semis. He was definitely one of the best openers in the tournament, probably along with Rohit Sharma.
JOE ROOT- 9/10
Joe Root was the anchor of England innings around whom the entire batting revolved. He made 556 runs, the most for England with two centuries and three half-centuries. Root may not have scored in bulk in the final few matches, but he had done enough to put England on road to becoming world champions.
