When India was eliminated from the World Cup 2019, fans stood with the team and supported them in their tough time. There were some errors made in the semifinal by Team India which ended their journey.

But blaming an individual isn't an option especially after such defeats. Not for Yograj Singh, father of Yuvraj Singh, who has pointed fingers on MS Dhoni's game plan during the chase against New Zealand.

India were 5 down on 71 when MS Dhoni walked out to bat with Hardik Pandya on the other end. Dhoni went on to bat till the second last over before he was run-out.

Dhoni's partnership with Ravindra Jadeja brought life to the game. Both the players scored half-centuries, but couldn't finish it for India. Jadeja fell in 48th over and Dhoni in 49th, which meant an 18-run defeat for India.

Yograj blamed Dhoni for the loss and said he wasn't taking responsibility in the chase which Yuvraj Singh would not have done. “One boy (Ravindra Jadeja) comes and he starts playing the big shots at will without any worry. You are batting on the other end. You are telling him to play the shots while he was batting on 77. Before that, you told Hardik Pandya to take on the spinners,” said Yograj Singh.

“Mr Mahendra Singh Dhoni, you have played so much cricket. Don’t you have any sense about what to do and what not? Did Yuvraj ever tell any other player to play the shots as you do? You got so many half-volleys, you hit huge sixes, what happened to you at that moment? Were you worried? You should have got out. What difference would it have made?,” he added.
