India's limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma took to Twitter to address the fans after the team's unfortunate exit from the World Cup 2019. Rohit called it a team failure and 30 minutes of bad cricket which cost them the trophy.

Rohit also thanked the fans for their continuous support throughout the tournament which never made them feel they are playing away from home.

"We failed to deliver as a team when it mattered, 30 minutes of poor cricket yesterday & that snatched away from our chance for the cup," he wrote. His tweet further read, "My heart is heavy as I’m sure yours is too. The support away from home was incredible. Thank you all for painting most of uk blue wherever we played ????????."

Rohit is still the highest run-getter of the World Cup after David Warner was dismissed on just 9 in the semifinal. He scored 648 runs in 9 matches at an average of 81 with a record 5 centuries and one half-century.
