Host England beat defending champions Australia by 8 wickets in the second Semi-Final at Edgbaston and qualified for the Final for the fourth time where they will play against New Zealand on Sunday.

Earlier Australia won the toss and opted to bat first but they had a very poor start as Finch got out for a golden duck off Jofra Archer bowling and Chris Woakes dismissed David Warner and Peter Handscomb cheaply and reduced Australia to 14/3 in the seventh over. Steven Smith and Alex Carey started the rebuild phase and took the score over 100 runs and their 103 runs partnership came to an end when Carey got out off Adil Rashid bowling for a well-fought 46 runs.

Marcus Stoinis once again failed and got out in the same over for two balls duck. Glenn Maxwell too couldn't convert his start and at 166/7 Australia was in deep trouble. Smith and Starc's 51 runs stand helped Australia to crossed 200 runs. Steve Smith got run out after scoring 85 runs and eventually, Australia bowled out for 223 runs in 49 overs. Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid took 3 wickets each.

In reply, Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow gave a flying start and smashed all Australian bowlers and their 124 runs partnership set the match for England. Bairstow got out for 34 runs and Jason Roy for 85 runs off just 65 balls. Captain Eoin Morgan and Joe Root's 79* runs unbeaten stand took their team home.
