CWC 2019: WATCH- Alex Carey gets hit on his chin; fans laud his bravery to carry on batting

The winner of Australia-England semi-final will play New Zealand in the final on July 14.

Carey gets his chin bandaged after been hit by Jofra Archer | GettyAustralia and England are currently engaged in the second semi-final of the ICC World Cup 2019 and the winner of the match will face New Zealand in the finals at the Lord’s on July 14. Australia defeated England easily in the league match, but this is a different game altogether.

Australia won the toss and chose to bat first on a beautiful wicket at Edgbaston in Birmingham. However, the hosts came out all guns blazing as Aaron Finch got out for a golden duck in the second over to Archer, while Woakes removed Warner for 9 and Peter Handscomb for 4, leaving the Kangaroos 14/3.

Then Steve Smith and Alex Carey came together to rebuild the innings. But the last ball of the eighth over of the innings bowled by Jofra Archer, raised from the short of the length and hit Carey flush on the chin under the visor of the helmet. The helmet also came off his head and cameras then caught blood flowing from his chin.

Here is the video of Carey being hit on his jaw:

The physio was called and Carey decided to get bandaged up and continued playing his game. This amazing show of bravery got Carey lots of praise on Twitter from fans and we have some tweets for you.
