CWC 2019: Cricket fraternity left stunned as New Zealand pacers blow away Indian top order

24/4 is the lowest score in the first 10 overs by a team in ICC World Cup 2019.

Rohit Sharma just managed 1 run in the semi-finals | GettyThe first semi-final of the ICC World Cup 2019 restarted on the reserve day and New Zealand ended up making 239/8 in their innings, which resumed from 46.1 overs. Ross Taylor made 74, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked 3/43 in his 10 overs.

Much was expected from the Indian batting lineup which had been nothing short of amazing in the tournament. Rohit Sharma had scored five centuries, while Kohli made five half-centuries and even Rahul slammed a century in the last league game.

However, those hopes quickly vanished, as Matt Henry and Trent Boult blew away the Indian top three. Rohit, Rahul, and Kohli all fell for 1 run apiece, leaving India 5/3 in 3.1 overs. Henry removed both the openers, while Boult took the wicket of Kohli. Later Henry also removed Dinesh Karthik for 6, leaving India 24/4 in 10 overs, the lowest score in the first powerplay in the tournament.

The entire cricket fraternity was left open-mouthed at how well the Kiwi bowlers started off against star-studded Indian batting. They reacted on Twitter after the astonishing collapse and we have some of the best tweets.
