Sanjay Manjrekar must have been thinking why didn’t he think twice before taking a dig at Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. The former Indian batsman had opined about the all-rounder that he is not the ideal bowler for 50-over cricket after India was beaten by England at Edgbaston on June 30.

"I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner," Sanjay Manjrekar was quoted as saying by IANS.

To this Ravindra Jadeja took major offense and retorted by tweeting, "Still I have played twice the number of matches you have played and i m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved. I have heard enough of your verbal diarrhea .@sanjaymanjrekar.

With India team into the semifinals, Manjrekar decided to pick his XI for the game and in doing so, also chose Ravindra Jadeja in place of Chahal. He tweeted, “Trying to predict Indian team for the semis. Let’s see how many I get right. Do send yours too. Will retweet a few. Rohit Rahul Virat Pant Hardik Dhoni Jadeja Bhuvi Shami Kuldeep* Bumrah. *If pitch is not a turner.

To this, former England captain Michael Vaughan quickly pointed out that Manjrekar had chosen Jadeja in his XI, despite saying that the left-hander was not an ideal player for the ODI setup. Obviously, Vaughan decided to poke fun at the former India batsman and tweeted, “I see you have picked that bits and pieces cricketer !!! ????
