England beat New Zealand by 119 runs at The Riverside Ground in Chester -le-Street and qualified for Semifinals.
Earlier England won the toss and opted to bat first and once again openers Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy gave a good start and punished New Zealand's poor bowling. Both the batsmen brought up their fifties but Roy couldn't convert it and got out for 60 runs. Jonny Bairstow continued his good run and scored his second consecutive hundred. Joe Root also perished cheaply and in the next a few overs Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes also got out and it gave a chance to New Zealand to make a comeback. Eoin Morgan's 42 and cameos from Liam Plunkett and Adil Rashid helped England to finish on 305/8 in 50 overs.
In reply New Zealand openers once again disappointed as Henry Nicholls got out for a golden duck while Guptill could manage only 8 runs. Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor started the rebuilding phase but both the batsmen got run out and at 68/4 New Zealand was in deep trouble and after that were playing only catch up game. Tom Latham scored his first fifty of this World Cup but he didn't get enough support from the end and eventually New Zealand bowled out for 186 runs.
