After a very unfortunate thumb injury to Shikhar Dhawan, another injury scare shook up the Indian team a bit. Vijay Shankar was hit on his toes by a yorker from Bumrah but he is now believed to be fine.

Jaspit Bumrah attended a press conference on Thursday where he spoke on a few topics involving Shikhar Dhawan, Vijay Shankar, the opening bowlers' strategies and their next opponents - Afghanistan.

The pacer said, "It is unfortunate he (Dhawan) is out of the World Cup. He played really good innings against Australia. We are a good side and we are not worried about it. It was an unfortunate incident which happened but we have to move forward."

In one of India's practice sessions, all-rounder Vijay Shankar was batting against Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah bowled a toe crushing yorker and Vijay was left bewaffled. He was hit on the toes and later was seen walking with a limp. However, the injury does not seem to be a major one.

"It was unfortunate that Vijay got injured on my ball but he is fine," Bumrah said.

Later, he was asked about the Indian pace trio's plans to handle the new ball. He explained his plans that he was doing nothing different and was doing exactly what he usually does.

"The best preparation for me is to bowl and that is what I am doing. Personally, for me, it does not mean any difference as three of us are focusing on the game."

India will next face Afghanistan on 22 June. They have not won a single game yet out of their 5 matches. On the other hand, India haven't lost any of their games. The 25-year-old pacer was also asked about their plans against Afghanistan.

He said, "We are not taking any team lightly. We are focusing all the teams in the same manner."
