Mushfiqur Rahim scored 102* in the chase.

Warner and Khawaja added 192 runs for second wicket | GettyThe 26th match of the ICC World Cup 2019 saw Australia take on Bangladesh in Nottingham and saw the defending champions complete a comprehensive 48-run win over the Bangla Tigers. Aaron Finch won the toss and chose to bat first.

The decision proved to be boon for the Yellow Army as David Warner (166), Usman Khawaja (89) and Finch (53) took the team to a mammoth 381/5 in 50 overs. Maxwell contributed 32 runs in 10 overs. For Bangladesh, part-timer Soumya Sarkar was the best bowler as he picked 3/58.

Mushfiqur Rahim scored a century in the chase | GettyIn reply, Bangladesh started off badly with Sarkar being run out for 10. Then Tamim Iqbal (62) and Shakib (41) added 79 runs for the second wicket. But Starc removed Tamim and Stoinis got rid of Shakib to hit Bangladesh badly. Last match’s hero Liton Das too fell for 20 runs, while Mushfiqur Rahim (102*) and Mahmudullah (69 off 49 balls) started a much-needed counterattack adding 127 runs, which came too late.

Coulter-Nile and Mitchell Starc picked two wickets each for Australia, as they won their fifth match out of their sixth one. Bangladesh managed 333/8 in 50 overs.
