Australia and Bangladesh are currently facing each other in the 26th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at Trent Bridge.

Opting to bat first, Australia off to a flying start as captain Aaron Finch and David Warner took the Bangladeshi bowlers to the cleaners. The duo put up 121 runs for the opening wicket inside 21 overs. Soumya Sarkar drew the first blood for Bangladesh by dismissing Finch on 53.

Unperturbed his opening partner’s dismissal, Warner continued his dominance and added 192 runs for the second wicket with Usman Khawaja. In the process, Warner also notched up his 15th ODI ton and second in this year’s World Cup. Following his hundred, the southpaw went berserk and struck boundaries at will. Sarkar dismissed him in the 45th over but not before the southpaw played a sparkling innings of 166 from 147 balls (14 fours and 5 sixes).

Khawaja, who played a second fiddle to Warner, suddenly up the ante and scored 89 off only 72 deliveries with 10 fours. Khawaja got out in the 47th over and he was Sarkar’s third victim. In the death overs, Glenn Maxwell made the mockery of Bangladesh bowling attack. The swashbuckling right-hander scored 32 off just 9 balls before getting run out. With one over to go, it suddenly started raining and Australia had to halt their innings on a mammoth 368/5.

After the rain went, pair of Alex Carey (11*) and Marcus Stoinis (17*) accumulated 15 runs of the final over and Australia finished with an impregnable 381/5.

Cricket experts on Twitter were left speechless to see the dominance of Australian batsmen over Bangladeshi bowlers led by David Warner.
