Kane Williamson batted wonderfully well to help New Zealand beat South Africa by four wickets in a rain-reduced 49-over World Cup 2019 affair at Edgbaston on Wednesday (June 19).

Chasing 242 to win, Williamson scored 106 not out off 138 balls amid collapse on a testing pitch to help his team overhaul the target with three balls to spare. Williamson’s knock was studded with 9 fours and 1 six and he was rightfully adjudged Man-of-the-Match.

While the Black Caps captain drew praise from all quarters for his match-winning century, his teammate Jimmy Neesham trolled him savagely after the match.

Taking to social photo site Instagram, Neesham posted a picture of Williamson from the presentation ceremony in which the Kiwi skipper can be seen making a weird face.

Neesham captioned the image, stating: “When you realise you totally forgot to bowl Neesh - But seriously, how good is this guy?!?! @kane_s_w”.

With this post, Neesham took a jibe at Williamson as the latter didn’t give him the chance to bowl during South Africa’s innings. New Zealand’s leading bowlers such as Trent Boult, Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson, Colin de Grandhomme and Mitchell Santner bowled brilliantly and restricted the Proteas to 241/6 in 49 overs.
