England registered a resounding 150-run victory over Afghanistan in the 24th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 on Tuesday (June 18).

Batting first, the hosts rode on Eoin Morgan’s jaw-dropping 71-ball 148 to post a mammoth 397/6 on the board. In reply, Afghanistan could only muster 247/8 in their stipulated 50 overs with Jofra Archer claiming three wickets for England.

Apart from England’s utter dominance, the match also witnessed a rare moment during the 24th over of Afghanistan innings when a pitch invader tried to steal the bails.

The ‘Zing bails’ have been a constant topic of discussion in the ongoing World Cup as it failed to dislodge on quite a few occasions despite the ball hitting the stumps. However, the pitch invader didn’t find any difficulty in knocking off the bails in a rare moment captured by the cameras.

Subsequently, security personnel chased him and eventually escorted him out of the stadium. It was the first instance of pitch invasion in this World Cup so far.
