Bangladesh came up with the brilliant all-around show on Monday, 17th June, to thrash West Indies out by seven-wickets in Taunton, and Captain Mashrafe Mortaza singled out Mustafizur Rahman’s spell as the turning point of the World Cup 2019 match including Andre Russell’s wicket for a duck.

The left-arm pacer dismissed the big-hitting Russell in the 40th over to halt the Windies innings after that they lost track and bowled out for 321, later Tiger’s experienced batting lineup easily chased down the target at the expense of just three wickets in Taunton.

Speaking to media at the post-match press conference, Mortaza said, “I think the turning point was the two wickets that Mustafizur got - Russell getting out in the first over.”

He added, “Shakib (Al Hasan) has delivered for the team in this World Cup. Hopefully, he will keep going and the rest of the boys will join him. Mushfiqur was outstanding in the first two games, Tamim (Iqbal) was excellent today and Soumya (Sarkar) got a good start as well. Liton (Das) has normally batted at in the top three and it was a tough ask for him to bat at number five, but he did the job.”

Meanwhile, there was a bit of an injury scare for Mortaza after he was forced to go off the field for some treatment during the first innings though the Captain insisted that there isn’t anything serious issue.

Mortaza signed off by saying, “My knees were hurting a bit, but we have enough bowlers to bowl in the death so it's not much of a worry.”
