Pakistan added one more defeat to their already woeful record in the World Cup against India, taking it to 7-0 in favour of the arch-rivals.

Team India outclassed Pakistan in all departments of the game to register an emphatic 89-run victory in Manchester on Sunday (June 16). After being invited to bat, the Men in Blue rode on Rohit Sharma’s dazzling 140 off 113 balls and Virat Kohli’s 65-ball 77 to post 336/5 on the board. In reply, Pakistan could only muster 212/6 in 40 overs after regular rains curtailed the game.

After the humiliating loss, Pakistani cricketers’ fitness came under the scanner. In particular, skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed received criticism from various quarters for yawning behind the wicket during India’s innings.

Amid the scrutiny, British boxing star Amir Khan has come out in support of the Pakistan cricket team. The Pakistani-origin boxer is willing to assist Sarfaraz and company in improving their fitness and focus.

Taking to Twitter, Amir posted some pictures of his training in the gym with a caption reading: “Would love to help Pakistan cricket team with some advise on how to stay fit and strong. How to be disciplined on food, diet and training. The team has talent but need to improve on Strength & conditioning and focus @TheRealPCB”.

Pakistan, currently ninth in the 10-team points table, next plays South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, and will have to win all of those games to reach the semis.
