CWC 2019: David Warner gifts signed Australian shirt to the net bowler he had unfortunately hit

The incident had happened prior to Australia's game against India at The Oval.

Before Australia's World Cup 2019 clash against India last Sunday (June 9) at The Oval, the team's net session was brought to an abrupt halt after opener David Warner drove a half-volley back at the net bowler Jaykishan Phala, who quite scarily got hit on the head.

Jaykishan, among many bowlers who were bowling in the nets that day, went down instantly on receiving that heavy blow. He was immediately attended by the Australian medical staff, players and coaching staff.

The man was then placed on a stretcher and taken away on the medicab, after 10-15 minutes of being treated on the ground in one of the three nets used by Australia. Coach Justin Langer and assistant coach Ricky Ponting stayed in close proximity while he was being treated.

An ICC official told media that the net bowler was taken to hospital as a precaution and was thankfully conscious enough.

But now, it is learnt that Jaykishan has fully recovered from the incident in fine health. And, on Saturday (June 15) ahead of Australia's next game versus Sri Lanka at The Oval, he shared heartwarming moments with Warner, hugging him at the sidelines apart from receiving a signed shirt from the Southpaw.
