Ever since they became an opening pair in ODI cricket during the ICC Champions Trophy 2013, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have forged many memorable partnerships.

Apart from their on-field brilliance, the duo also shares a healthy camaraderie off the field. Their sound rapport was recently seen when Rohit posted an amusing reply to Dhawan’s Instagram post.

Dhawan, who scored a majestic 117 in India’s 36-run win over Australia despite playing through pain and with a swollen thumb, shared some lines of Urdu poetry on Instagram which states: “Kabhi mehek ki tarah hum gulon se udte hain... Kabhi dhuyein ki tarah hum parbaton se udte hain... Ye kainchiyaan humein udne se khaak rokengi... Ke hum paron se nahin hoslon se udte hain...”

Replying to this post, Rohit wrote: “Bas kar yar” which loosely translates into “Stop it man”.

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have looked in terrific touch in the ongoing World Cup. The pair shared a partnership of 127 runs against Australia at The Oval on Sunday (June 9). During the partnership, however, Dhawan took a blow on his left thumb from a rising Pat Cummins delivery and is set to miss the next two matches against New Zealand (June 13) and Pakistan (June 16).

Releasing a statement on Dhawan’s injury, BCCI on Tuesday (June 11) evening said: "Team India opening batsman Dhawan is presently under the observation of the BCCI medical team. The team management has decided that Dhawan will continue to be in England and his progress will be monitored.

"Dhawan sustained an injury on the back of his left hand in the region between the index finger and thumb during the league match against Australia on Sunday."
