CWC 2019: Cricket fraternity lauds Dhawan century and Kohli, Rohit fifties as India puts 352 on board vs Australia

India's 352/5 is the highest total against Australia in World Cup history.

Hardik Pandya slammed 46 off 27 balls | GettyThe 14th match of the ICC World Cup 2019 saw India take on defending champs Australia at the Oval in London. Both the teams were coming off victories in their previous matches and things started off well for the Men in Blue.

Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat first given the nature of pitch and openers Rohit Sharma (57) and Shikhar Dhawan (117) put on 87 runs for the first wicket. Dhawan continued after Rohit fell, with Kohli for the company and completed his century with ease off 95 balls. Kohli made 82 runs in 77 balls and with valuable contributions from Hardik Pandya (48 in 27 balls), who batted at no.4 and Dhoni (27 off 14 balls), India managed to put 352/5 in 50 overs.

This is the highest score and first one over 350 against Australia in World Cup history and the Kangaroos will have to make a world record chase in the tournament if they want to continue their winning streak.

Cricket fraternity was amazed at the efficiency of the Indian batting lineup that neutralized a formidable Australian bowling lineup. They tweeted their applause and we have some of the best tweets.
