After the tensions between India and Pakistan earlier this year, the clash between the two countries in ICC World Cup 2019 has become a major attraction. It got a different touch after a Pakistan journalist Saj Sadiq revealed that Pakistan cricketers asked PCB to allow them to celebrate Indian cricketer's wickets on June 16 in a different style. They wanted to pay tribute to the Pakistan army after taking every Indian wicket during the match.

Earlier Indian cricketers had sported army caps during an ODI match against Australia. In retaliation to this, Pakistan wanted to do something for their armed forces as well. But PCB has turned the request down.

"Reports state that the PCB has told its players to stick to cricket and turned down a request from Sarfaraz Ahmed and his team to celebrate India's wickets 'differently' in retaliation to Kohli and Co. wearing army caps during an ODI against Australia in March," tweeted Sadiq.

He also said that PCB chairman Ehsan Mani, while turning down the request, said, "We will not resort to what the other party has done. There could be sporadic celebrations in case of a hundred, like Misbah-ul-Haq's push-ups during the Lord's Test in 2016 which was a tribute to the army, but nothing different at the fall of a wicket."

India and Pakistan have faced each other six times before in the World Cup. All six times Pakistan had to face defeats.
