CWC 2019: SA v IND – Cricket fraternity lauds Jasprit Bumrah, as he removes Amla and De Kock early

Faf du Plessis won the toss and chose to bat first, given that they lost two games chasing. The Proteas have been hit hard with injuries, which sees Dale Steyn ruled out of the tournament and Lungi Ngidi missing this match. For India, they chose to bring in Bhuvneshwar Kumar and KL Rahul in the team means Vijay Shankar and Mohammad Shami missed out.

However, the first spell of the day belonged to Jasprit Bumrah, who picked two wickets, that of Hashim Amla for 6 and Quinton de Kock for 10, both caught in slips to Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli respectively. Both the batsmen were lured into the trap of playing away from the body by the brilliant right-handed fast bowler from Gujarat and he ensured that India got a good start n this crucial opening encounter.
