CWC 2019: WATCH- ‘Dhoni-Dhoni’ chants echo in the Oval as MS Dhoni fields on boundary

MS Dhoni is playing his fourth World Cup.

MS Dhoni | GettyMS Dhoni is probably playing his final ICC World Cup in the 2019 edition in England and Wales and he has seemingly decided to make the most of the opportunity. Recently, during the IPL, the former India captain was plagued with back trouble and even missed a couple of games.

Therefore, when India took New Zealand at the Oval for their first warmup match on May 25, MS Dhoni gave up the glove duty to Dinesh Karthik and parked himself on the boundary. Team management didn’t seem to tax the wicket-keeper into overexerting himself, given how important he is to the plans of Virat Kohli in the tournament.

With super-fast reflexes and immaculate game-awareness, the seasoned campaigner has rewritten the art of smart wicket-keeping and that will come in handy during the main draw, when India begin their journey on June 5 against the Proteas.

The Indian contingent in the crowd went nuts as Dhoni decided to patrol the deep fine-leg boundary and even made a couple of smart saves, much to the delight of everyone and chants of Dhoni-Dhoni began.
